Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the boxing community shared condolences for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
