Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Ceremony
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the top winner. This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the esteemed Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Enhancing the studio's success, the talented performers also received individual awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Top Studio. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers collected 7 awards during the event.
Other major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which won Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. It is important to note, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only 4 special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamer Selection—judged by reviewers.
