Indianapolis Colts Face Atlanta Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action

Hello, football fans. How are you? Alles klar I hope on this excellent early start to week 10 coming straight outta Deutschland. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the powerful Colts (seven wins and two losses) take on the Falcons (3-5). This marks the fifth matchup played on German soil and the first in the capital city.

Pre-match Key Moments

When it comes to glittering attire that is an absolute belter from the Olympic figure skater on the opening flip. A slight fluff from the broadcast team there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the presenter with an unfortunately hot mic.

Well, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have chosen to get the ball first. Daniel Jones and company will be setting up shortly. Can the quarterback recover after a difficult performance in Pittsburgh?

In a similar vein the vocalist performing the US national anthem has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. We are almost underway after a choral number for the German anthem. Elegant.

First Quarter Action

Scoreless at 13:30 in the first

Here we go! And we have early drama after Jonathan Taylor receives a short throw, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right then loses the ball … only for his offensive lineman to save his bacon with the ball retrieval. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Still scoreless at 10:51

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The gamble fails to pay off as Josh Downs fails to catch a quick pass from the quarterback. On the play before the turnover on downs Jessie Bates put a massive tackle on the Colts' tight end. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they attempt to end their string of three losses. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Touchdown Recap

First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36

Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was wide open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That play rather sums up the high draft pick's professional journey to date.

A disappointing start but it only deteriorates for the Falcons as they cough the ball back to the Colts on the 23-yard mark. Michael Penix Jr is hunted down and fumbles the football.

An agile 22-yard rush from Ashton Dulin sets Jonathan Taylor up to roll in for the score on the following play. The placekicker skews the extra point wide. Oops.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

The quarterback recovers from the turnover by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. Drake London makes some chunky receptions to put them in the red zone then the seas part for Tyler Allgeier to saunter on to the goal line through the middle of the defense for a 13-yard gain. The running back finishes it off for a short scoring run of his own. The Falcons take the lead.
