Liverpool's Star Offers Statement to Squad, Says Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad following the fallout from his public comments.

The Fallout

Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following voicing frustrations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”

Arne Slot has previously declined to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the player.

Looking Ahead

Jones insisted that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.

Jones also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “I understand there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”

On-Field Response

The team's performance have been impressive in the games following the situation. He feels the forward's comments were never meant to harm the team.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and securing victories.”
