Fighters chuckle as they move on the bed of a transport truck, racing by a series of several corpses and driving facing the descending Sudanese sunset.

"Look at such work. See this instance of genocide," a fighter shouts.

He beams as he turns the video equipment on his own face and his companion combatants, their RSF insignia visible: "The victims will all perish like this."

These individuals are celebrating a massacre that relief organizations believe resulted in the deaths of in excess of 2,000 individuals in the Sudan's urban center of el-Fasher in recent weeks.

A Community Isolated from the Globe

Having held the city under blockade for almost 24 months, from the summer the militia moved to consolidate its dominance and prevent access for the leftover inhabitants.

An elderly individual clad in a white tunic sat alone amongst the victims. He looked to look as a militiaman equipped with a firearm proceeded along the steps facing the victim. pointing his rifle, the fighter discharged a one round at the individual, who collapsed to the floor still.

"Why is this one still alive," another militiaman cried. "Execute this person."
