History of Incidents
Since the onset of the full-scale conflict in Ukraine, a number of Russian military commanders have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.
This most recent event comes after other high-profile incidents, such as:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov perished in late 2024 when a device hidden on a scooter was triggered from afar.
While a informant previously linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such claims are never formally acknowledged as a matter of standard practice.
Hostilities has been marked by covert operations extending into the center of the Russian capital.
The probe into General Sarvarov's death remains underway.
