Star Denies Anti-Vax Stance Following Narrating Disputed Pandemic Documentary
The acclaimed actor has provided his vocal talents to a recent film that casts doubt on the safety of vaccines and lauds ex- government figure the political figure.
The Film's Provocative Origins
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a well-known publication published by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the health crisis for allegations that Covid was linked to a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.
Her co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with controversial figure the Infowars host. Heckenlively wrote online hailing Neeson's involvement in the documentary.
An Unequivocal Statement
The team of Liam Neeson have provided a statement pushing back against claims that he supports anti-vaccine beliefs.
"Many recognize that unethical practices may occur within the drug industry, but that must not be equated to being against vaccines," the statement explains. "Liam has never been, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His long work with Unicef highlights his long-held support for public-health initiatives."
The response added that the performer did not shape the film's messaging and that questions about its assertions should be directed to the creators.
Major Claims Within the Film
In the film, the voiceover read by Neeson features several controversial statements:
- It suggests that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "complete compliance" to government bodies.
- It posits that "medical science has become dangerously influenced by politics."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is interviewed saying, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
- The narration also criticizes Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused mental anguish that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Regarding pandemic shots, it references a report that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Previous Background and Current Debates
The documentary also references a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a BBC apology by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.
Recently, RFK Jr directed the national health agency to alter its official position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is also referenced in the documentary, despite a new report from the global health body confirming no evidence has been found.
A Past Position of Support
Differing from the film's message, Neeson has formerly shown strong support for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
In 2022, he described vaccines as "an incredible human success story," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."
The documentary concludes with Neeson's voice proclaiming, "This isn't the end of our narrative. It is the start of a new chapter."
