The First Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Is Still Fighting.

Across the gaming landscape, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for the Xbox brand. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Xbox fan sites are now publishing content regarding Sony's platform for the first time. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it is apparent that Xbox still intends to draw people in with compelling titles on its key platform.

The Current Inclusions

The two games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's truly noteworthy.

Upcoming Headline Games

Starting January 13th, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up conventional open-world tropes with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of terror and combat."

Noteworthy Smaller Games

Yet, the less-hyped additions set to join the catalog are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the developers behind Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Robust Selection of Games

In summary, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they tentpole Microsoft studios games that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — transforming them into perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.

You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
