He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade
In a separate essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.
"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Recently, a Los Angeles court official decided to prevent the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A judicial mandate placed a embargo on the investigation to limit the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" pertaining to the active case.
The relevant authority had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a public database listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
